How do teams work? I guess I should look at the Kiva website, but I have a lot of trouble navigating it.

To join the Science Fiction Fans team you can go to the link I gave and click on the "Join Team" button. The team page shows aggregate lending information for group members and allows messages to be left for the team. Beyond that teams are merely a way to group individual members.
