The power is on in part of my house, but not on in other parts. As far as I can tell all of the circuit breakers seem to be fine (no red showing), and I even flipped them each off and then on again just in case, but no luck. The most annoying part is that the outlet that the refrigerator was plugged into wasn't supplying power, though the lights and most of the other outlets in the kitchen are.

The breakers go bad. Try and see if the one for the fridge is mushy or soft when reset. (Mushy and soft can indicate a fried breaker.) They are not difficult to replace or extremely expensive. You need the brand of circuit box and the amperage if you are going to try to replace one. Your local hardware store may have them, Menards, Home Depot, or electrical supply stores may as well.

None of them seemed mushy when I was flipping them, though I wasn't paying much attention to that aspect so that doesn't mean much.

It's not like they're filled with mashed potatoes, but the one I had just didn't quite feel right, sound right, or set right on the reset. It was also a just bit looser and soft. It would help if you could identify the circuit. It's possible for a wire to come loose or burn out, but I think the breaker is the most likely culprit as long as it's just not one outlet that's out.

I assume you looked outside the house and talked to Xcel to make sure the problem isn't on their end? There's a chance one wire is down somewhere outside the house...

Nope. If it isn't working by this evening when I get home I'll probably call Xcel.

I thought for a while that it was all of the breakers on the left side, but when I was experimenting this morning I found that the lights on the stove were working and I think that outlet is supposed to be on the left side.
