It looks like the bus drivers are going to go on strike. It wouldn't bother me so much if I worked downtown, but I really don't think it's practical to walk all the way to Plymouth. Does anybody know of anyone who lives in South Minneapolis, works out in Plymouth (the closer to 1405 Xenium Ln the better) and would be willing to let me ride along in case of a strike? My hours are pretty flexible (I can start anywhere from 7 am to 9:30 am) and I'm willing to walk a couple of miles on either end of the trip.

Date: 2004-02-24 09:29 am (UTC)We'd probably end up aiming for getting you to work about 8:30-8:45 - I'm supposed to start at 9:00, and get off at 6:00.

Date: 2004-02-24 07:32 pm (UTC)I dunno how traffic is on 394 going west at that hour these days, tho.
(And the return trip you could easily take 169 south to 55 West and over to Kevin's place and then take 394 east into town or 55 if you preferred).
Just suggestions from someone who knows the area well. Hope a strike doesn't come to pass. Thanks for mentioning this in case Kevin doesn't find anything better.

Date: 2004-02-24 02:13 pm (UTC)I don't get off work until 5:30 pm though, and sometimes (actually kind of often) I get stuck later. So, dunno if it would just a pain in the ass for you or not. Drop me a line if you want to discuss.
Mornings would be problematic for me. But maybe sraun could handle those if we did something like this?

Date: 2004-02-24 07:34 pm (UTC)I'd also thought of asking you if you recall if anyone cool who works at Colorhouse lives in S. Mpls as Colorhouse is mere blocks from where Kevin works. 'Course it'd have to be someone who works days, more or less. I never really knew where anyone lives (hell, I don't even recall where Pat lives!).

Date: 2004-03-01 04:36 pm (UTC)Laurel &/or Al probably mentioned that I work at Colorhouse, which I believe is within blocks of where you work. I live in South Mpls near Lake Nokomis so neither end's far out of my way. I work roughly 10-5 so and they're pretty flexible.
So yeah, if the drivers go out I can drive you for sure. I like science fiction and such and I promise I won't light up any of my stinky cheap cigars while you're in the car (unless you want one too).
